Overview：DropCare® HMD is a chemically synthesized, high-efficiency broad-spectrum cationic antimicrobial agent derived from the reaction of organic carbon (hexene) with hydroxyethylsulfonic acid. This water-soluble cationic surfactant functions as both a potent bacteriostatic inhibitor and bactericidal agent, effectively controlling microbial proliferation in personal care formulations. It delivers targeted efficacy against Malassezia furfur—the primary causative agent of dandruff—and exhibits strong bactericidal action against acne-inducing Propionibacterium acnes, providing clinically proven dandruff control and significant acne reduction. Recommended for anti-dandruff shampoos, scalp treatments, acne cleansers, and preservative-boosting systems (usage rate: 0.3-1.5%), its cationic mechanism disrupts microbial cell membranes to inhibit colonization while establishing lasting antimicrobial barriers.
